Biography

"Every great dream begins wih a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world" - Harriet Tubman

My mission is to inspire others that it’s never too late to pursue your dreams.

I started my journey in music later in life than most musicians because I didn’t have the luxury sooner.

I was born and raised in Edmonton, Canada and relocated to the SF bay area in my early 20s to start my career as a software engineer. That’s when I could afford to take private lessons in guitar, piano and voice. I fell in love with the sound of a piano when I was a child and in some ways I think Tori Amos taught me to play the piano and sing through her song books. Many have commented on hearing her influence in my music.

In 2007, I joined Leilujh, a SF psychedelic indie band, as a keyboardist and back up singer for about a year. In 2008, I had the fortunate opportunity of meeting Joshua Rumer, producer of my debut album. I spent about a year taking weekend road trips to LA to record with Rumer.

Together we produced “Heart Anchors” which is a collection of delicate pop songs with elements similar to Aimee Mann, Tori Amos, and Sarah Mclachlan.

Each piece on this disc is distinct, giving the listener something new to hear and feel from one song to the next. Ranging from soothing and melancholy, to upbeat and invigorating and from rich and lush to barren and stark, there is something to inspire and catch the attention of listeners of all backgrounds.

“Heart Anchors” made it onto 15 top 30 charts at college and community radio stations across North America. I’ve performed all around the bay area as a solo artist, as well as with a full band. I’m very proud of “Heart Anchors”, a delicate collection of 11 uniquely crafted songs.

I hope you find inspiration from my story and my music.
